How to Use the Dilution Calculator

Check Your Label: Read the "Guaranteed Analysis" on your fertilizer bottle. Look for instruction like "1 tsp per gallon".

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I store mixed fertilizer?

Generally, no. Organic fertilizers (like Fish Emulsion) will rot and smell within 24 hours. Synthetic can shift pH. Always use immediately.

What is Foliar Feeding?

Spraying diluted nutrient solution directly onto leaves. Plants absorb nutrients faster this way (via stomata). ALWAYS use a weaker dose (25-50% strength) to avoid burning leaves.

What does N-P-K mean?

Nitrogen (Leaves), Phosphorus (Roots/Flowers), Potassium (Overall Health). A 10-10-10 label means 10% of the weight is each nutrient.

Why are my leaf tips brown?

Classic 'Fertilizer Burn'. You used a concentration that was too high, creating toxic salt buildup. Flush the soil with pure water immediately.

Is 'More' better?

Never. Plants are not like people eating a buffet. Excess salts damage root hairs, preventing them from drinking water. A weak dose often is 100x better than a strong dose once.

Can I use this for Hydroponics?

Yes! This tool calculates the exact fluid ratio. However, for serious hydroponics, you should also check the EC (Electrical Conductivity) and pH of your final solution.
