Frequently Asked Questions
Is my pet's medical data secure?
Yes! All data is stored locally on your device using browser localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. Your pet's medical records stay completely private on your computer or phone.
Can I track multiple pets?
Absolutely! You can add unlimited pets, each with their own complete medical history. Switch between pets easily using the pet selector at the top of the page.
What types of records can I track?
You can track vaccinations, vet checkups, medications, surgeries, lab tests, allergies, and other health events. Each record type has specialized fields for comprehensive tracking.
Can I set reminders for upcoming vaccinations?
Yes! When adding any record, you can set a 'Next Due' date. The tool will show upcoming appointments and due dates in the reminders section, helping you never miss important vet visits.
Can I print or export my pet's records?
Yes! You can print a complete medical history report or export all records as a CSV file. This is perfect for sharing with your vet, pet sitter, or for your own records.
What information should I include for each record?
At minimum, add the date and description. For better records, include the provider/vet name, any notes about the visit, costs, and the next due date if applicable.
Can I store my vet's contact information?
Yes! Each pet has a dedicated section to store your veterinarian's name, phone number, address, and notes. This makes it easy to access vet info in emergencies.
What vaccinations should I track for my dog?
Common dog vaccinations include DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza), Rabies, Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Lyme Disease, and Canine Influenza. We provide a dropdown with common vaccinations.
What vaccinations should I track for my cat?
Common cat vaccinations include FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia), Rabies, FeLV (Feline Leukemia), and FIV. These are pre-loaded in our vaccination selector.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Since records are stored in your browser's localStorage, clearing browser data will delete your records. We recommend regularly exporting your records as CSV backup.
Can I track my pet's microchip and insurance info?
Yes! When adding a pet, you can enter their microchip ID number and insurance policy number. This information is displayed on the pet profile card for easy reference.
How do I search through old records?
Use the search bar to find records by title or notes. You can also filter by record type (vaccinations, checkups, medications, etc.) to quickly find what you're looking for.
